I want to encourage you to ponder moments in your life where you forget that you are living with MS, even if it’s for just a second.

When you live with MS, life can be raw and real, and with that comes a little extra messiness in your life. There's certain things that we can change in our life and there's certain things we can't.

I refer to living with fatigue because that is one of the MS symptoms I experience.

Fatigue can be a hard thing to change. I manage my energy, but I also need to face the fact that I live with fatigue every day of my life.

When I am swimming, I forget all about MS. It's simply not on my mind. I feel free. When I'm in the water, I feel supported. I feel empowered. Maybe not when the waves are high and they are splashing into my face and I'm sucking back tons of water. But when the water is relatively calm and I'm moving through it and I feel almost weightless, I'm in the zone.

It is such a pleasure, pure joy for me.

I want to encourage you to ponder times in your life or moments in your life, snapshots where you forget that you are living with MS, even if it’s for just a second.

Write down or record that moment.

It could be in that moment when you're spending time with your kids, a pet, your grandkids or a friend. What might be happening instead is this essence of joy bubbling inside of you.

So you're there in that moment and you're not thinking about the fact that you are experiencing MS.

When you can capture and remember these moments, it's precious. So I want to encourage you to start noticing. Start noticing those little moments as they arise and how powerful each of these moments can be.

By doing this, you will free yourself of chronically thinking about MS. As a result, you will enjoy your day to day life so much more.
