Is your life with MS moving too fast or too slow? 

Either way, take a moment just for you and pause. 

When I refer to taking a pause, what I mean is coming back to yourself. You can do this by taking a nice deep breath through your nose all the way down to your belly.

When I refer to taking a pause, what I mean is coming back to yourself. You can do this by taking a nice deep breath through your nose all the way down to your belly. 

Then let that breath out through your nose.  

If the first time you do this your breath doesn’t travel as far as your belly, give it another try. Take your time. There is no rush or urgency. 

This moment is just for you! 

While I am traveling in Greece right now, I have become more conscious of my energy levels as they go up and dip down. I take moments to pause and reflect. Why do I bother to do this? Because, this life experience is new, it’s exciting and it’s also challenging. 

I want to notice the joy and the tension. 

Think about your week so far. Notice when your energy is up and when it’s down. 

Notice when you experience urgency and when you experience calm. 

Becoming aware of each moment by slowing down your breath and your thinking, can be a wonderful tool to get you out of your head. To let go and be with yourself even if it’s only for a few moments in time. 

Let me know how it goes as you breathe in through your nose all the way down into your belly and then out again. 

Try it once. Then do it again and again for at least 5 minutes. 

I like to set a timer.  

Give it a try. 

As I pay attention to my breath, I notice my energy dropping. I stopped writing this email, paused and headed into the darkness of my bedroom to have a nap. Now my energy is up again as I continue to write to you.
