My hand could not write and my left foot was dropped. Steroids solve the problem. But emotionally I was a big hot mess. I was diagnosed with MS.
I was at the peak of my career. My li...

I can think of 100 reasons to put off what is most important and necessary right now.
Can you relate?
When taking care of your “health” with multiple sclerosis becomes such a BIG focus, it can become overwhelming. At times the thought of finding the energy to just get it done might feel daunting.
I get it. I experience this too!
Three days just before my flight back to Canada from Greece, I developed a sore throat, dry cough and inner ear discomfort.
Oh no, what if it’s covid?
I’ll come back to this part of the story later. But before I do…
Here’s the truth bomb: I was so excited to see my daughter who flew into Greece from Spain with her boyfriend. It had been over 3 years since I last saw them. I was so excited and over the moon happy.
In this joyous state, I eased, well pretty much erased many of the habit systems that support me in effectively managing my life with MS.
This seven-day family reunion started with late night dinners and foods that I normally avoid...

🐘 Elephant Wisdom Worth Sharing
For some reason Elephants are known as wise.
I’m not sure why.
I look at the photo you see above, and it takes me back to when I was a child of 5 or 6 years old. I remember the Dr. Suess book, “Horton, Hears a Who”. It was first published in 1954.
The quote from the book that stands out most is when Horton, says, "I meant what I said, and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful, one hundred percent!" Horton was asked to do the difficult task of sitting on an egg until it hatched for Mazy the lazy bird.
Horton endured great hardships of seasonal weather and no freedom for almost a full year. In the end the egg hatched and out came an elephant bird.
The image you see above is one that I took while in the old town of Kavala Greece. Upon snapping that photo, the feeling I got from looking at this image and reading the ...

Either way, take a moment just for you and pause.
When I refer to taking a pause, what I mean is coming back to yourself. You can do this by taking a nice deep breath through your nose all the way down to your belly.
Is your life moving too fast or too slow?
Either way, take a moment just for you and pause.
When I refer to taking a pause, what I mean is coming back to yourself. You can do this by taking a nice deep breath through your nose all the way down to your belly.
Then let that breath out through your nose.
If the first time you do this your breath doesn’t travel as far as your belly, give it another try. Take your time. There is no rush or urgency.
This moment is just for you!
While I am traveling in Greece right now, I have become more conscious of my energy levels as they go up and dip down....

Stress is a normal part of daily life. Persistent stress is not.
Getting up in the morning and getting out the door on time for an appointment can be stressful, yet it’s not a persistent stress. Once you are at the appointment, the stress of getting there dissipates.
Healthy stress can motivate you to get important tasks done.

When it is persistent, this type of stress is categorized as bad stress. Often bad stress shifts to become anxiety.
How do you manage bad stress, so it dissipates rather tha...
